Very frustrating times as our website is still down after crashing overnight Saturday. An unprecedented amount of interest in our coverage of Saturday’s tributes to Carly-Mae Pye sent the website into meltdown. The website, which on Saturday afternoon carried extensive coverage in the form of articles, photos and podcasts from the day’s events at Callaghan Park, captured huge local, national and international interest. So much so, that the site’s capability to host visitors (already very large) was crashed by more than 100 times the amount of traffic it could handle. One web link alone, posted on the RJC Facebook page to podcast interviews with trainers and jockeys after the Carly-Mae Pye Memorial race, reached no less than 14,400 people. Many other links also received massive amounts of traffic. Our IT company continues to work on resolving the website outage. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but we take heart from knowing that Carly-Mae Pye touched so many people.
