Very good article. As a single mom, one thing that irritates me and will cause me to shut down and not communicate with someone is when someone assumes something and accuses me of something because of a rumor they heard instead of asking me about it, but only if they truly are concerned and want to help. Now, if you sit there and accuse me of something instead of saying, I heard such and such and it concerned me so I wanted to hear what you have to say about it and then end our conversation with, I only say this because I love you and am concerned about you that is a sure way to end any type of friendship we ever had or will have.
