Very good article. The Western culture has consistently ignored the birth of healers. Yes, very true . Spiritual emergencies are viewed as aberrations rather than awakenings or portals. My own personal experience with this occurred during the early 1970s and thankfully somehow I knew enough to stay away from therapists etc. Instead I learned transcendental meditation and continued on my spiritual path through books and other means. Its very important for us humans to reconnect with ritual and with our relationship with the wider reality beyond this physical world. This is why I love the work that I do and supporting sensitive women who are emerging as healers to do so in sacred space and with safety and understanding. Just this morning I was thinking about one of the women in the first sacred self-care for highly sensitive women class who told me that she had been waiting all of her life for this class for the acknowledgement and validation of her sensitive nature and her gifts is a healer rather than feeling like an oddball. ~Janice Masters, The Shaman Mama
