Very good points raised by Mark Coker. As with everything economic, the ebook market is tipping the scales when it comes to supply vs demand. Sure, its great that we have the option available to self publish, but when more and more people join in, the market becomes overloaded with options for the reader. So how do we stay discoverable, and successful? It all comes back to having the passion to provide a good product. Marketing works, and if you hit the right formula you can catapult your sales, but I can tell you now, when the going gets tough itll be the authors who consistently produce unique, gripping stories, packaged in a well edited, formatted package with a quality cover that stick around. Sales will drop, thats a given, so the best thing we as authors can do is focus on our craft and write, write, write. Quality AND quantity- thats the ticket.
