Very honored and excited to have illustrated the full-page Fiction section of this weeks New Yorker, Alan Bean Plus Four written by Tom Hanks(!) no less. The story follows Alan Bean and three other retired astronauts who decide to fly back into space and see the moon one more time. Credit to the art directors for choosing the most abstract sketch, this was one of the most fun pieces Ive ever worked on! The other ideas all involved animations with pens and loose change floating around in the zero-gravity spaceship. Some type treatments in the sketches too.
