Based on a study done by Dr. Jailan and others, they found from 2008-2012, 75% of the cases going to litigation for injuries stemming from cutaneous laser surgeries were performed by non-physician operators who are practicing in a medical spa. When getting procedures, particularly cosmetic procedures, it is very important to make sure you go to someone who is an expert within the field and understands the risks/complications of the procedure they are performing on you.
