Very interesting. This phenomenon of the naked mole rats ability to live a relatively long life has everything to do with fewer cell growths overall in comparison to the rats proliferate cell growths. I wonder if intermittent fasting (a life style of eating habit... and not a diet) follows the same line of reasoning for humans. In that, during long hours of intermittent fasting, the body repair itself by repairing damaged cells [due to the presence of certain types of growth hormone factors during hunger( which I should look up again) ] instead of growing new cells which may also proliferate beyond normal, perhaps causing the growth of tumors? Hmmm... something to research :)
