Very interesting post about the promotion of records to DJs & how DJs treat & use the music & what DJs give in return for these free promos, be it a reaction to the promo, using the music in podcasts & mixes or charting promos sent! Im new to digital music & have only just started listening to promos & reacting, I always seem so far behind. I need to catch up with whats been sent & also start doing more charts too as the artists & labels really do deserve the support, especially if Im playing their tunes in my sets! If all DJs react, chart & track list their mixes, it really would help the artists & labels as the labels can use those reactions in distribution sales notes & all get their artists across to the mainstream public more I DJs are charting & track listing their mixes.
