Very often, this man is inexorably confusing. Am I missing something, or is this just a clear case of muddled thinking? He claims that people who are corrupt dont know they are corrupt. They have to be informed of it by someone else or they wont realize it. After all the study that Ive done about spiritual wolves, I totally disagree. Informed? No. Confronted? Yes. Clearly, he needs to do more research, both Biblical and within psychological literature. The very worst of all, his view tends to remove personal responsibility from the corrupt person. Theyre just operating in ignorance. To this Pope, corruption is like bad breath. The corrupt person doesnt know he has it. Even psychopaths know the difference between right and wrong, they just dont care. Is it possible to be so evil for so long that you destroy any vestige of conscience? Yes. But at that point someone informing you of it wont make any difference. The corrupt person needs to be confronted and its not going to be pretty. And corruption is different than sin?
