Very pleased that Twiggy has become so much more relaxed and softer through her whole body. She is therefore picking up signals from the seat ALL THE TIME and not ignoring the important half halts!! She is now light in the mouth and in total self carriage yet she is still through. She felt like a different horse today! Rossi had day 2 of intense lateral training after I realised he wasnt respecting/understanding the positioning of my leg enough over the weekend, which became apparent in our test! Only day 2 and he is already moving away from the leg quicker with more straightness in the body and more lateral cross over on a steeper angle. Big expressive horses definitely take more time to physically develop and therefore train but thankfully he is not always a big thicko and is strong enough to cope now. Plan is to continue that training for the whole week to really get the message across. Overall the feeling that horse gives is just fantastic now that he has become connected. After years of riding thoroughbreds etc (which are all fantastic in their own right!) I still get blown away by the pure power of these horses and yet they remain light and athletic. Unashamedly proud and happy rider today!
