Very pleased with the opportunity to lead church today. Understanding the responsibility in delivering a sound message, I felt compelled to expound on our calling and elections as believers; to understand more what that exactly means. I added a side note toward the end of service regarding an epiphany I had during worship. I was pondering what being slain in the spirit was really like. What I imagined was to the effect of becoming so consumed in worshiping God, that every part of my being along with all physical connection with my surroundings resulted in basically passing out, but not. I have the contrast of what many have seen through televangelists and the showboating, smacking someone on the forehead, knocking them down, supposedly being slain. Personally, I think most of it is a mockery. I can appreciate the epiphany I had. It makes more sense. Consumed in worship, completely given to honoring God as He deserves.
