Very rare artifact from the Battle of Mill Springs Kentucky. Over - TopicsExpress

Very rare artifact from the Battle of Mill Springs Kentucky. Over 10 years ago I purchased this sword on Ebay from the digger. Later I did meet him and was told this sword was recovered from inside the building site where Zollicoffer Headquartered. Research showed that Zollicoffer did have a M.1840 Militia Officers sword in his possession at that battle but had his 1850 Field Officers sword on him when he was killed. The1840 would have been left at His Headquarters building where this one was found. I have pictured beside the dug sword another M.1840 Militia Officers sword made by Ames with etching on the blade. THIS SWORD IS NOT INCLUDED BUT IS SHOWN FOR COMPARISON. The last picture is of the Ebay auction in 2003 when I won this item and at the time it did have the writing on the blade placed there by the digger himself. Is this Zollicoffers personal sword? very probable. But none the less a great piece of History from a very Important battle $200 plus actual shipping, on the board mount.
