Very sad, disappointed and miffed tonight. I stopped at the cemetery on my way out of Hingham. My friend, Judi, had passed away on Christmas Eve. Her service was on January 3rd, and her grave is right across from my sisters graves. When I got to their section, the first thing I saw was a large mound of dirt, next to a hole covered with plywood planks. There was no gravestone, just a base. I was sickened, as this digging was obviously not new. I looked at where my sisters are buried and there were tire tracks across their grave, where a vehicle had backed up from Judis plot. The missing headstone was plopped on a grave to the left of my sisters. I understand that working there is probably a tough job, but feel a true lack of respect. It hurts to see tire marks on my sisters plot. It hurt more to see such a mess where my friend should be resting peacefully. Needless to say, I will be calling the parish tomorrow. This is not acceptable.
