Very thankful this Good Friday! I had the day off and Gene and I headed to the farm to get some repairs done....Repairs you ask??? Yes, yesterday when Gene was hooking Celtic to drive he tried to nip Gene. Gene went to smack him and off Celtic went. Gene tried to hold the reins, bit couldnt. Around the arena, and out the door he went. Thankfully the harness broke and missile (carriage) behind Celtic was released. So today Gene repaired the barn door, I found pieces of harness to put a full one together for Celtic and we decided that the shaft was bent, but not bad enough that we couldnt get Celtic hooked and driven a bit to see how he would be. He was pretty nervous at first, but Gene drove him a bit. We unhooked and then hooked again and he was fine. Brought the carriage home and Gene straightened the shaft, the axle and everything is almost as good as new. I think there is something about April...Pip got ran over last year, Gene had his terrible accident a few years ago in April....I think Ill put him in bubble wrap the rest of the month!
