There are many who argue that there is no connection between human violence towards each other is unrelated to the slaughter of animals. However, for me the evidence that such a connection exists is all to obvious. In these videos that connection seems entirely evident. The obvious delight expressed in killing animals in this fashion, irrespective of the ceremonial nature of the act, is highly suggestive of a basic attitude towards killing in general. The fact that we as humans can and do embrace such acts indicates that we find killing to be totally acceptable. It is in large a means of expressing ourselves for some purpose be it religious in nature or simply as a means of demonstrating power or dominance. We are reviled by the prospect of war, the killing of innocents and barbaric acts of genocide. We collectively reject these things as being inhumane and unacceptable. Yet, still we seem blind to the relationship between those acts and the ones we see depicted here. What seems missing any discussion about such things, is the very fact that we each have the ability to act without compassion for each other, and most certainly other living beings. If we expect to live in a world of kindness, why then is it so difficult for us to connect the dots between one act of brutality and another. Can we ever really have peace until such an idea is taken seriously? How is it that our theoretically superior intelligence cant seem to grasp something so simple. Violence creates violence.
