Very upsetting to hear that staff in a facility in Meath are now under the spotlight for miss treatment of vulnerable residents in their care. Incidents of physical intervention, slow responses to medical emergencies, abuse of civil rights amongst other things were reported in two announced inspection reports by the health regulator HIQA. As the inspections were announced the facility would have been given notice of visits 6 weeks in advance. If the facility knew of visits in advance I would dread to think how residents were treated when no review was taking place.These reports raise serious concerns and must be addressed by the appropriate authorities immediately.
