Very well said. This objection to the Oneness doctrine is quite common, but my answer is the same now as it was when I was Trinitarian. Jesus was fully God and fully flesh. His flesh was speaking to his Spirit in those scriptures. To say that Jesus in the flesh was somehow separate from God is to deny the deity of Christ. God is one. Hes not 3 in one and hes not 3 separate gods in one Godhead according to the Scriptures, but he is one God powerful enough to be omnipresent in a way that is hard to wrap our minds around. The bible doesnt say the word Trinity. Nowhere in the bible does it say 3 gods in one godhead or 3 gods in one. It doesnt say God the father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit What it says is this.... Deuteronomy 6:4 Listen, Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord is one! John 1:14 Now the Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We saw his glory – the glory of the one and only, full of grace and truth, who came from the Father. Colossians 2:9 For in him all the fullness of deity lives in bodily form Colossians 1:15-20 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him – all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers – all things were created through him and for him. He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him. He is the head of the body, the church, as well as the beginning, the firstborn from among the dead, so that he himself may become first in all things. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in the Son and through him to reconcile all things to himself by making peace through the blood of his cross – through him, whether things on earth or things in heaven. 1 Timothy 3:16 And we all agree, our religion contains amazing revelation: He was revealed in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up in glory. 1 Timothy 1:17 Now to the eternal king, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen. Hebrews 1:3 The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.
