Vet updates! Tully had his senior wellness exam today! He has a grade 3 heart murmur, terribly rotten teeth, and stiff hips. Dr. VanMaele DOES think Tully is 15 and maybe older! Bloodwork will tell us more about his health tomorrow! Frosted Face Joey is Tullys new sister and she tagged along because she has been doing some head shaking. She had a pretty swollen ear and severe infection so she was sent home with meds. Kasa finally recovered from kennel cough so she got spayed and had dental surgery today. She had 5 extractions, doc said he wanted to get more, but her mouth was swollen, bleeding, and they were so calcified into her jaw, that the time it would take to keep her under anesthesia would not have been good for her health. More critically, we learned that her uterus was filled with countless ulcers from the number of times she had been bred. Dr. Ferenstein said its great that we got it out! Scooby passed his wellness vet check just fine! His upper canines are broken off and mostly gone but his molars are relatively clean and healthy. He is missing all the little front teeth between his canines on his lower jaw too. His ears are fine, a little dirty but not bad. He may indeed have some hearing loss, but is is mild at this point. His hips are tender, limited range of motion- likely arthritis. The vet pronounced him in fantastic health for his age! Scoobys brother, Kodi, ride along so Scooby wouldnt be nervous. :)
