Veterans Day. Some years ago my wife and I made a trip to Branson Missouri and it was over Veterans day. Veterans day in Branson lasted for over a week. Every show we attended, who ever was on stage always had the Vets stand up and everyone gave them a hand. It was very moving. One show we were at, Lee Greenwood had us stand and the couple next to us thanked me for my time spent in the service. I sat down to watch the rest of the show and I realized these people are the only ones who ever shook my hand and thanked me. It brought a tear. When I returned from Viet Nam we were told at Travis Air Force Base there were protestors outside the gate and we should not pay any attention to them. The Bus passed through them and we were called everything from baby killers to war mongers. I sit and wrote this and wonder how many are in Washington DC and our State Capitols running this country. John Kerry was a cowardly bastard the protested the war. I think this may be a reason I have such a dislike for the current administration. I have to wonder how many of them sat in a rice paddy getting shot at. Im proud of the time I spent over there and the time I spent in the Navy. Two and a half years on the ground in Nam and a trip that ruined a marriage. Looking back Im glad that marriage ended.
