Veterans, I have only experienced one theater of military operation; Nam. I know the abject horror of war, indetermination of losses, and scars rendered. Yet, I also know the resilence of the human spirit, the spoils of victory, and the gain of trials surmounted. I know of moments, when the ground and vegetation of today can trigger my senses to moments long ago; and even in the most innocuous of settings, every helicopter sound sends memories of prop wash, and adrenaline rushes through the canyons of my mind. I belong to an exclusive brotherhood; borne out of the comraderie of all who have undergone, and gone through, the same. Times, reasons, and geography may vary, yet, those bands of the brotherhood prevail. To all you vets,..I shall not expound at length, but Im imagining our eyes have met, and Im giving you a simple, yet silent nod of the head,......for that transcends speech, yet,..... speaks volumes.
