Veterans and their families seeking a peaceful, quiet, serene - TopicsExpress

Veterans and their families seeking a peaceful, quiet, serene setting for physical and emotional healing now have a wonderful Veterans Healing Garden at the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center in Spokane. Today, under a beautiful blue sky and warm sunshine, Medical Center Leadership presented Veterans, including Honorary Guest Steve Hamlin (US Army Vietnam War Combat Veteran and Purple Heart recipient) who gave the garden and the event a smiling thumbs up! The Veterans Healing Gardent includes three water features, cedar arbors, professionally designed landsacping and irrigation system, and sculptures that all create a little piece of heaven as Veteran Donald Kaufman (US Navy, Vietnam Era Veteran). Raised garden beds for vegetables, grown and managed by Veteran inpatients, have produced tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, squash and zucchini (bread). The event was a fantastic tribute to Veterans and the VAs cultural transformation of Patient Centered Care.
