Veto Pro Pac Customer Profile: I work for West Point and live in Rockland County NY. While I was in high school I took a residential electric course through Boces. I tried to get a job as an electrician but found a job at a HVAC shop instead. I knew nothing about the systems except how to wire them up but they started me off slow. I worked for about 18 months in their tin shop. Then 6 months of warehouse work. About the two year mark I went into install. About a year of residential and light commercial install they put me on the boiler replacement team. They said they needed me for my size. After a year of replacing boilers I got a little tired and figured if I stayed I wouldnt have a back when I got older so I found a job in NYC as a service tech. The company handed me a metro card and a cell phone and sent me to work. Mostly maintenance but that was ok since I had no vehicle to store anything. Soon after that I joined the Army Reserves. Upon my completion of basic training and our job training I tried to come back to work and my boss told me that my position was no longer available. I found a job at a research facility as a maintenance tech in Rockland but didnt really like it to much so I kept looking after I was hired. Then the job I have now came up. A HVAC service tech for West Point. There are only two of us and its basically all maintenance work but the more maintenance we do the less service calls we get. Plus I get to work with the military even when Im not on reserve duty. Since we are a small shop we have to help out each other on bigger jobs and since I have the electrical schooling I find myself with an electricians belt also. While I was there I was activated two times for about a year a piece to deploy to Afghanistan. I actually just recently came home from the second tour about two months ago. All together I have been been doing this for 8 years but I took two two year long breaks to go over seas. I have the Tech PAC with the TP3 and the LC. John Lindemann
