Vets on Grandmas side of the family from the Civil War... Union Side Notes for William Franklin Dodson: [dodson.FTW] Note by Eunice (Weaver) Pearson; William Franklin Dodson fought in the Ci vil War on the Union side. He moved to Springfield, Greene County, Missour i, was on the 1880 Federal Census. Later they moved to Webster County a nd bought a farm near the old Washington School House. Moving again to Mar shfield where he ran a Livery and Feed Stable Service, also Taxi Servic e. The site of this business is now the Older American Center located at 2 28 North Crittenden Street. William Franklin is buried at Marshfield Cemet ery. The Government put up a stone for him. Arminda was living with her da ughter, Arminda when she died. She was buried at the Marshfield Cemetery b eside her husband but no head stone was set for her. From The Marshfield Chronicle, Aug 25,1904, Marshfield, Missouri; Mr. Will iam Dodson, an old and well known citizen of this place died Tues. *** ht of this week - aged more than 80 yrs. The remains were laid to re st in the City Cemetery.
