Via Christian Peacemakers Palestinian Muhamed Saleh, waits for hours at checkpoint 56. For 40 years, Muhammad has ridden his donkey from his home to the market in which he sells his milk. Rules of occupation have changed and there is now a new shiny sign at checkpoint 56 saying no animals allowed. Just following orders, Israeli soldiers point to this new arbitrary order when asked why they are making an old man sit in the sun for hours, as he attempts to maintain his livelihood. Muhammad was at the checkpoint for eight hours on December 26th. For a few hours he was joined by his son who is now disabled having been shot in the head by Israeli forces in 2008. He is still unallowed to pass the checkpoint with his donkey. This is occupation. This is apartheid. Welcome to Israel.
