Via David L. Jewett who writes: Meanwhile, the string pullers are chuckling to themselves over the peoples folly. Knowing that everybody in attendance will post pics and vid taken on their mobile phones made of plastic and rare Earth metals, and will post the vids and pics to be viewed by friends who will view them on computers made of the same stuff, all made by near-slave labor in Southeast Asia; they will hop into their cars and onto planes and subways, all made of metal, rubber, more plastic and rare-Earth metals, to go home to a house filled with throw-away appliances, and other crap (all made of the same stuffs by the same near-slaves) that they are told to need and want by an all-pervasive media culture that force-feeds us all a steady diet of how great it is to consume. They will sit down to eat pseudo-foods grown on factory farms miles and miles and miles away, transported straight to their local market by trucks made of the same stuffs as the cars they drive, then they will hop into to beds made in Southeast Asia by more near-slaves to sleep and dream of the coming utopia composed of sustainable fuels, where everything is recycled, all foods are organically grown, the Earth never warms beyond a liveable level, and everybody lives happily ever after..... Im not holding my breath. declineoftheempire/2014/09/adventures-in-flatland-part-ii.html
