Via: Minister Lawrence Foster Here is the post, that goes with the MLK Day theme... still second post... near the end, is an excerpt about the condition of the church... Daily Republic FAIRFIELD-SUISUN, CALIFORNIA By Deon Price From page A8 | May 31, 2014 | (Here is the sad reality for today’s youth, particularly African-American males. As a father of three sons, I have delivered this message of tough love to my boys and many other young men. Be prepared to share this with your sons, nephews, brothers, cousins or friends. Brace yourself! You are a target. You are the outcasts of our society. In our current environment, you are expected to be the most incarcerated, the most uneducated, the most unemployable, the most expelled, the most violent. You are at the bottom of the barrel in just about every aspect of our society. You are the most likely to be murdered or to die due to health issues yet there seems to be no concern for your mortality. There is very little value for your life. If you were a whale or any other animal you would be No. 1 on the endangered species list. You are a prey and a target for the criminal justice system. You are the most likely victim of hate crimes, gang violence, police brutality and black-on-black crime. You will be adored and hated. The world loves a lot about you but does not love you. Your style will be much appreciated and imitated. You will be envied and despised at the same time. You will never receive the respect you deserve, whether you are the man of the house or the president of the United States. You will be criticized to an unprecedented degree regardless of how well you perform your duties. You will have to do three times better than your counterparts just to be accepted in any industry or occupation. You will be challenged and tested more than any other person by both males and females yet you cannot respond like other individuals would naturally. You have to be more patient to these attacks, more tolerant to injustices and more accepting of disappointments. You will be persecuted more often than most and disciplined much more harshly than anyone else. Your reputation and image will be vilified. You will be restricted or have limited access from just about every industry in the nation. You will have to break down barriers to make your way. Do not expect any breaks from anyone; the system is not designed to benefit you. In most cases you are on your own. Laws are written to incriminate you. You are a small fish in a sea of sharks looking to devour you. In order to survive, you have to be smarter and wiser than most. Besides all of these obstacles, you still manage to find a way to shine. You maintain your integrity and will not compromise your dignity. Your natural instinct to survive is impeccable. You have an incredible ability to adapt and excel when given the opportunity. You have demonstrated an outstanding aptitude to prosper regardless of the many adversities that are set in your path. You were dealt a very poor hand yet you continue to find a way to win. You have accomplished great things under extremely challenging circumstances. You are armed with strength and power beyond what is normal. You are the epitome of a champion. Be prepared to take your rightful place in the world. When it comes to the church... I am starting to see people support only certain individuals and not others when we are suppose to support everyone who is on the front line; who are snatching souls from the devil. Here is what I dislike... So many people are in this popularity contest inside the church. In competition for positions, or a title; these things needs to stop. So many people forget that we are all trying make a name for ourselves but this shouldnt make it inside the church. The church is there to help people. We are not competitors, we are people with various talents. No ones talent is better than the others because they should be used to give God the glory. They should not bring attention to ourselves because it is all vanity. All the attention and glory belongs to God. God Hates Arrogance (A proud look). Being Puffed up or a head that so big that it needs to be deflated. (A big Ego) Arrogance will cause people to do things out of envy and jealousy when a person is better than them. Anyone who has envy and jealousy in their heart is capable of murder. They would murder not only the persons reputation; but, also they would assassinate the integrity and character of the unsuspecting person whenever they feel like, They cannot measure up. They will slander the name of the person, in a heart beat because they might be psychologically or emotionally insecure; when there will always be some one who is better or smarter. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emotional_security We should be content with the gifts we have. As well as, help those who are in need. Are we still in high school? And are we way over twenty years old? We should not be a part of it because it is stealing from the real issue, which is souls and letting people know that our Lord was crucified for our sins as human beings. Ephesians 4:1 biblehub/ephesians/4-1.htm through 5:2 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, urge you to live in a way that is worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 4:2 with all lowliness of mind and unselfishness, and with patience, bearing with one another lovingly, and earnestly striving to maintain, 4:3 Through the peace that ties you together, do your best to maintain the unity that the Spirit gives. 4:4 There is but one body and but one Spirit, as also when you were called you had one and the same hope held out to you. 4:5 For THE LORD JEHOVAH is One, and the faith is one, and the baptism is one, 4:6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. 4:7 Gods favor has been given to each of us. It was measured out to us by Christ who gave it. 4:11 And He Himself appointed some to be Apostles, some to be Prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers, 4:12 Their purpose is to prepare Gods people to serve and to build up the body of Christ. 4:13 This is to continue until all of us are united in our faith and in our knowledge about Gods Son, until we become mature, until we measure up to Christ, who is the standard. 4:14 Then we will no longer be little children, tossed like waves and blown about by every wind of doctrine, by peoples trickery, or by clever strategies that would lead us astray. 4:15 Instead, as we lovingly speak the truth, we will grow up completely in our relationship to Christ, who is the head. 4:16 From Him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building up itself in love by the proper working of each individual part. 4:17 This, then, I say, and I testify in the Lord; ye are no more to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind, 4:18 They cant understand because they are in the dark. They are excluded from the life that God approves of because of their ignorance and stubbornness. 4:22 to put away, in regard to your former mode of life, your original evil nature which is doomed to perish as befits its misleading impulses, 4:23 Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. 4:24 with that new and better self which has been created to resemble God in the righteousness and holiness which come from the truth. 4:26 If angry, beware of sinning. Let not your irritation last until the sun goes down; 4:27 Neither should you give place to The Slanderer. (neither give room for the devil.) 4:30 Dont give Gods Holy Spirit any reason to be upset with you. He has put his seal on you for the day you will be set free [from the world of sin]. 4:31 Let all bitterness, fury, rage, clamor, and insults be taken away from you with all wickedness, 4:32 And be ye kind one to another; merciful, forgiving one another, even as God hath forgiven you in Christ. 5:1 Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are his dear children. 5:2 and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. (I think I got carried away, with the scriptures but I love reading. Thank you Lord for your Word.) We need to come together to help others and not worry about ourselves. Because we are one body and serve One God, in one faith. Matthew 6:33 But first be concerned about Gods kingdom and his righteousness, and all of these things will be provided for you as well.
