I mean, I actually know (knew is probably more accurate) leftists who equate RT with authoritarianism and Al-Jazeera with all that is good in the world: Im going to say this, and quite frankly I dont care who disagrees with me... It is hilarious to me how many people bash RT for being a Kremlin mouthpiece...and yet they are VERY quick to forget that RT was the ONLY network available in the US or UK that provided CRITICAL (as in real) reporting of: - The illegal imperialist war on Libya AND - The US-NATO-Saudi-Qatar-Israel subversion/destabilization of Syria not to mention that they gave a platform to Assange/WikiLeaks when every other network was too scared... Meanwhile Democracy Now, Al Jazeera, and other so called mainstream alternatives were too busy cheerleading for those wars, then when the reality of those wars finally came out, PRETENDING as if they didnt. If you want to bash RT for being a mouthpiece of the Kremlin, fine...make sure you say the same about NPR for being a US propaganda mouthpiece... Al Jazeera for being a Qatari al-Thani mouthpiece...BBC for being a British imperial mouthpiece...Pacifica for being a finance capital/foundation funded pseudo-alternative progressive mouthpiece... -- Eric Draitser
