See open letter here: In light of the aggressive announcement from the University of Surrey and others to deduct 100% pay for partial performance for members participating in the assessment boycott, and the advice from the university that additional work staff undertake is ‘voluntary’: 1. University of Surrey UCU calls on the regional official to put in process mechanisms to call a one week strike at the earliest possible time. 2. University of Surrey UCU calls on the HEC to call an academic boycott of the University of Surrey, unless the threat to deduct 100% pay is withdrawn. 3. University of Surrey UCU calls on the HEC to follow-up on the 78% ballot mandate by calling escalating national strike action until the threat is withdrawn. 4.
