Via Rockjumper - Worldwide Birding Adventures #wildbird - Easily identifiable by its distinctive black cap, bright red bill and contrasting white throat and purplish-blue wings, the Black-capped Kingfisher (Halcyon pileata) is a widely distributed tree kingfisher found throughout much of tropical Asia. Typically associated with coastal and mangrove habitats, though also regularly recorded far inland, it was in a coastal mangrove in magical Thailand that Markus Lilje snapped this shot.
