Via The Welcome Record... I hope everyone has had a safe and happy Christmas. Heres hoping 2015 will be a good year! On a more sober note, regarding the Dunolly and Bealiba standpipes. I have fought long and hard to retain the standpipes while keeping the cost to a minimum. If you see any vandalism or people acting suspiciously around the standpipes, please inform the Police or Shire immediately. The standpipes are provided by the Shire for the residents as a service and one we do not want to lose. I can at last announce that we have received funding for sails to be placed over the toddlers’ pool and the shallow end of the Dunolly swimming pool. The tendering process will begin very shortly. Whilst I would love to see the sails in place by the end of the season, I think it will be more likely for the start of the next season 2015/16. The funding consists of $23,300 Government funding and $3,000 local contribution from the Pool Committee, thanks to Georgina Hall andBernie Patten. Also thanks to Wayne Belcher and Martin Mark, Central Goldfields Shire, for their assistance in obtaining this funding. It has been a long wait, but at last it is happening! Bob Henderson
