Via woni witu Have you ever been in Machakos Town? next time you visit go the clock near old Nivas and read some history. Machakos will produce leaders that will impact kenya and Africa. I am not a prophet but God is doing something new for His people. The young Queen Elizabeth had heard of the courageous and loyal service of the Akamba in the colonial Military and Police and wanted to reward them with recognition. When the opportunity came, the Queen sent her sister Princess Margaret to do this, on her behalf. Kamba soldiers, administrators, traders and other prominent personalities were presented to the Princess in a huge reception that was held on 20-22 October 1956 at the present Machakos Golf Club. To commemorate this event, a prominent Ismaili businessman donated a monument which to this day stands at a busy cross-road in the center of Machakos town. This monument needs to be maintained in a more professional manner in order to preserve its original majesty.
