Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, Commander Sri Lankan Navy being received by Vice Admiral Satish Soni, FOC-IN-C (East) Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera, Commander Sri Lankan Navy, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Shalika Perera and a four member delegation arrived Visakhapatnam on 28 October 2014, on a short visit to the Eastern Naval Command. Vice Admiral Jayantha Perera held discussions with Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command (ENC) on various issues of mutual interest. He was also briefed on the role and functions of the ENC. The visiting Chief was accorded a Guard of Honour on his arrival at the South Block. He thereafter called on the CNS, Admiral RK Dhowan and is scheduled to meet officials in the Ministry of Defence and the National Security Adviser. The visiting CNS will also travel to the Headquarters Eastern and Southern Naval Commands and visit various training and operational facilities at Vishakhapatnam and Kochi. The cooperation between the two navies covers a wide spectrum of activities including training, operations, hydrography, material and logistics and also information sharing for maritime domain awareness.
