We take care of those who are grieving and when that is done we follow them to the gates of hell and extract justice. If you dont believe ask Osama Bin Laden. Compare and contrast and tell me if Nigeria is a country, if indeed we have leaders and if we are a people. Countries defend their own, leaders protect and defend their people. Patriotism is not something you demand of the citizens alone, leaders show the people how. That is their mandate, their portfolio, their oath. In nigeria everything is turned on its head. The leaders expose us, rob us, violate us. They lie to our faces and no longer care that we can tell falsehood from a mile away. They have eroded our honor, our pride of place in the world, pillaged our values and indeed they are worth their own weight in dross. Destitute of morality they have continued to flout all the laws they vowed to uphold, black is white and white,black. Their vacuous minds have addressed all issues of national importance with a walk in the park, criminality with a pat on the back. We have become a people without foundation, without coherence, without identity. For whatever little was bequeathed to us by our heroes past have long been taken from under our feet. At best We now stand docile without shoes, spectators in our own contests. For like in the slave trade era some are willing accomplices even cheerleaders in this dance of death. Bread crumbs from off the table is better than nothing, today more expedient than the future. After all thats if tomorrow comes.
