Vickie Chapman (Liberal) and Robert Brokenshire (Family First) have criticised the new changes to P-plate laws! Chapman is quoted as saying that extending the curfew to all P1 drivers would punish innocent drivers and that Weve got an existing provision for curfew as a punishment tool, its working, its the best use of resources and we support it continuing. Brokenshire said the number of curfews imposed by the courts showed efforts were already in place to change driver behaviour. If people are getting repeat curfew orders, that clearly indicates that theyre not learning.
