Victoria Ordu and Ihuoma Amadi, both 300 level students on - TopicsExpress

Victoria Ordu and Ihuoma Amadi, both 300 level students on scholarship at the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, have been in self- incarceration for more than 405 days since June 2012, when they were ordered to leave Canada for mistakenly working illegally for two weeks at Wal-Mart. Thousands of people including Saskatchewan provincial government officials, Regina Liberal Member of the Federal Parliament, Ralph Goodale, management of the University of Regina, students and activists, are continuing calling on the Government of Canada, to reverse the deportation order and allow the students back on campus. Hundreds of people have taken to the streets in protest of the deportation order, stating that, the punishment was not proportionate to the mistake made. The students have been taken sanctuary in a church since the ordeal, and have not been able to step out of the church for over 405 days, for fear of being arrested, since a Canada wide arrest warrant has been issued on them.
