Victoria Ross May 17 at 2:27 PM Breaking news: MaryAnne Grady-Flores was convicted in DeWitt Town Court last night (Friday, May 16, 2014) on Contempt of an Order Of Protection (OOP). MaryAnne did not intend to violate the Order despite its immorality and invalidity, merely taking pictures at the base of others - the Ash Wednesday Witnesses - who did nonviolent civil resistance (blocking the entry to the base) for which they were subsequently acquitted. A heinous misuse of an instrument meant to protect the innocent from violence, the OOP is being used to protect violent transgressions of international and moral law. While trying to publicize and support a movement to ground the drones and end the wars, and to promote saving childrens and civilian lives, MaryAnne was convicted by a tired (and probably hungry) jury. The two-day trial included testimony from Colonel Earl A. Evans who is the party protected by the OOP, Catholic Priests Father Bill Pickard and Tim Taugher, Catholic Workers Bill Frankel-Streit and Ellen Grady, sister. MaryAnne also testified herself. Linda LeTendre and Michael DeSalvo also testified, as did two police officers. Note: MaryAnne is free on bail, with a pre-sentencing investigation being started and a court (sentencing) date of July 10.
