Victoria had a special place for Perry. We did not know him long and we convinced Houston Independent School District to have there first ever Radio Program. Perry flew down to give a presentation at the school. He said when you are going to do an interview you need to have 30 questions ready and to do your research. So Victoria did just that on Mr. Perry. He asked her introduce him and so we drove to his hotel picked him up and Victoria is chatting with him the whole way. When we got to the school, Victoria gave a phenomenal intro and the kids were so excited that they fell in love with his spirit before he said one word. He believed in them. He asked specific heartfelt questions and got to the root of their passion. And that was their show. Later we went for BBQ at Rudys and he said he wanted to come back just for that meal. My poor dad was a vegan and could not eat anything on the menu. But later he came to our house and we did not want the night to end. Victoria spoke with Vic Damone on the phone and said he was as great as Jonny Depp! and everyone had an amazing time. Perry became family and we checked on each other as my father had illness and hospitalizations so did Mr. Perry but we kept in touch. Perry has the greatest eyes and Victoria kept wanting him to wear a pink western shirt. She kept trying to save up money to get him one and he kept threatening he would wear it. We miss him terribly. But he gave her the strength to be a motivationl speaker and encourage youth everywhere to dare to dream. He spoke about Mario, Conner, and Maddie purple hope a lot in his trips ad about the little girl from book worm. I could see that these were his kids and he was proud of every single last one of them that made his dream come alive. My favorite story he told was ho he learned English listening to the radio and calling plays- and the moment he met his favorite announcer that brought him through that tough time -You will be in our hearts.
