Victory Story # 3 ~ God Supplies ALL Our Needs! Madonna House, Neptune SCHOOL SUPPLIES ~ Miracles Happen! In 1990, when Madonna House started operating out of Our Lady of Providence Church, Neptune City, New Jersey, (the building now condemned), a dear mother called me in late August inquiring if we had any school supplies. School was starting soon and she couldn’t afford to buy supplies for her two children. I could feel the tension in her voice. Being a mother, I felt and understood her apprehension! I told the dear mother, very gently, that we didn’t have any school supplies, but that God will always amaze us. I suggested that she make an appointment to come to Madonna House in two weeks time for clothing for her children and maybe by then God would send in school supplies. She agreed; but then started to weep! She was so sad knowing that she could not provide for her children. I was so moved by her tears that when we ended our telephone conversation I immediately said a little prayer, just asking God to, ” please… hear this mother’s plea and to PLEASE grant her request for school supplies“. I left Madonna House at 2:00 pm and returned home. Upon entering my kitchen I noticed an envelope lying on the floor, which had been slipped under my door. The envelope had my name on it. I stared at the envelope not knowing who had sent it; there was no other name on it… except mine. I opened it, and inside was a card. I opened the card and inside was a check for $62.00. This is what was written on the card: “Please give this to anyone who needs school supplies!” The card was unsigned and I was not familiar with whomever had signed the check. I said to myself out loud, “O God, now I know I’m in trouble – you’re leaving notes in my kitchen!” I immediately called the lovely, but sad mother and told her that God had indeed provided for her! I thought to myself, “Why a check was $62.00 and not $60.00 or $65.00”? I like to round off numbers. “Well”, I thought, “I bet this is just the right amount this dearest mother needs, and GOD KNOWS IT.” I went to the bank, cashed the check and took the money to the mother. God Knows Our Every Need! HE will give us everything we need to meet the needs of everyone. Our job is to PRAY and distribute it . Thank God for Madonna House. PLEASE… HELP TO KEEP US OPEN! Your Dollars Mean SO MUCH At Madonna House!
