Video #1: Today I had the blessed opportunity to join with the beautiful, dynamic voices of sisters from across the Metro-Atlanta area at the #Bring Back Our Girls Atlanta Rally coordinated by Tamika Middleton. It was so great to be a part of the growing momentum that is speaking out against the injustices committed against girls and specifically adding our voices to the millions across the globe who are aiming to put more pressure on the Nigerian government to find The Girls. This rally which was held in downtown Atlanta at Woodruff Park consisted of a diverse group of people. We listened, learned, and took our posters and signs to the streets. Women Watch Afrika, Inc.s Glory Kilanko, Nigerian-born activist and human rights defender, spoke about her experiences and struggles growing up in Nigeria and the great sacrifices made for her to obtain a good education at a boarding school. Other women included issues of child trafficking, etc. This footage is very raw (I had no time to edit today), but as you watch it you will see how Atlanta women are building, and strategizing, and networking to do what is necessary for to #BringOurGirlsBack. (Video footage filmed by Hermina Glass) Please visit Bring Back Our Girls ATL page for the remaining speakers/videos of this event...
