Video gift number 11, celebrating our 30th anniversary, for Susan Tapscott Kersey is about our first song. Although I contend that our first song was Pour Some Sugar On Me, it really isnt the first song we agreed on as our song. As we grew ever closer at ECU, during the summer breaks of 1982 and 1983 I logged ALOT of windshield time in my old 1971 Chrysler 300 and later my Silver Chevy Silverado. I drove the road between Ada and McAlester, sometimes more than once a week, and virtually every weekend. The song and our situation had really very little in common, but that didnt matter. By this time we had been bitten pretty bad. One night while saying goodbye while sitting in her driveway, it was nearly 2:00 am and I had to get back to Ada for class and work the next day. I guess she wanted our song to be a little more relative to our situation and while we played it one more time on the old cassette player she sighed and said,why cant you be a music man? Here it is.
