Video of multiple chamber checks, to show complete bolt closure without use of the forward assist. A properly built rifle should not require use of the forward assist to lock the bolt. Dirty, out of spec ammo should not be forced into the chamber. It hurts nothing to tap the FA forward after administratively loading the rifle, just for your own peace of mind. This rifle is not particularly clean and is definitely under-lubed, as I have not cleaned or lubed it in months. In the video, I hit the FA multiple times to show that the bolt is completely locked. Muzzle is up, so gravity is not helping. Rifle is an XM16E1 clone, built on a converted DPMS lower receiver and a surplus A1 upper half. BCG is Bushmaster, all springs are standard. Magazine is AR Stoner brand loaded with 28 rounds. Ammo is LC M193.
