Video of the little bobcat from last week! This little baby bobcat was found by a local homeowner, and had been alone for quite some time. They decided that he needed help, and brought him to us (him or her, we arent sure to be honest). Fortunately, this little one was VERY frightened of us. It may sound strange that we were so happy about that, but being scared of humans is one of the criteria to determine if a cat is eligible for rehabilitation and release back into the wild. A cat who shows no fear of humans, particularly bobcats who often live in such close proximity to humans, often ends up being killed because they will approach people who then think the animal is sick because its acting strange. So, with the fear this little one showed, we were THRILLED to be able to transport him to Wildlife Rescue & Rehabilitation, Inc. near San Antonio this weekend. He will be cared for there until old enough to be released, and then will live the rest of his life where wild cats belong - in the wild!! Good luck little one, we know youll do great!
