Vidic: Decision not about Moyes Nemanja Vidic says the opportunity to play in another league was behind his decision to sign for Inter, not the change in management at Manchester United. The Serbian centre-back is ending his association with the Red Devils at the end of his contract this June, to join up with the Nerazzurri on a Bosman deal. Ahead of that, the 32-year-old has considered aspects to the deal, including when it was made. “It was as late as January. Like the manager has said, it was a mutual decision,” Vidic has told Sky Sports this week. “Sometimes, you have to accept it is time for a change. Time to fight for different things, to have a different challenge - and that is definitely going to happen in Italy. “Did Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement play a part? Not at all. Its just something that has happened as the season has gone on. “Following a conversation with the manager, it happened that I decided to change leagues and play in a different country. “The last few months with United? I am starting to think about how long I have left at the club. “I see a lot of people on the street and they still have appreciation for what I have done for the club. “Sometimes, its hard to listen to these comments, but thats football, thats life. You have to accept thats how things go and move on. “I would like to finish on a high and finish with good performances. Im looking forward to playing every game I possibly can.”
