Vietnam Tightens Airport Security Following Disappearance of Malaysian Jet Voice of America News (03/11/14) Nguyen, Trung Reports that two passengers on the missing Malaysian airliner were traveling with stolen passports have prompted Vietnam to increase security at its airports. For instance, the Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi has conducted intensive employee training to prevent such document fraud, according to senior security official Pham Anh Tuan. He also noted that the airport has closely followed an order from the government that has the nation on the first level of a three-tier security alarm system. Pham said that all airport employees have been instructed to immediately report anything out of the ordinary or suspicious to security forces, and said that random checks are being conducted on passengers and luggage after they undergo security screenings. The biggest airports in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City have also introduced more security staff and explosive detectors in domestic and international arrival and departure terminals.
