View from the stand It was a tale of three Sams, three returns and three saves. Tiverton came to Sholing probably with thoughts of taking advantage of the change within the Boatmens Management structure. But little could they have realised that with Dave Diaper back in charge, the return of Dan M and Sam A and the support of the vocal Ultras, Shoilng would be back with spirit, movement and vision. As always TJ and Wattsy worked well together on the right, with Dan and Motty strong in the centre of defence and Sam A bringing pace and strength at left back. Most of the first half belonged to Sholing with our midfield working well together with Barry (playing upfront) and a lot of movement from Sam W. Best chance of the half though went to Tiverton and produced a good save from Matty. Second half was more equal in respect of possession and Sholing used the long ball a bit too much at the beginning. Matt Brown again kept us in the game with a (no exaggeration) world class tip over the bar and a save onto the bar from a long range shot. Balders came on as sub up front and made an immediate impact with Alex S making a couple of good runs from midfield before Motty ran onto a deflected clearance from a Brewy free kick to score the only goal of the match. MOTM went to a well deserved Dan Miller on his return, he won everything in the air but it was a solid performance from everyone. COYB
