Viking of St. Louis. The Chauffer driver hat belonged to a gentlemen that originally drove for Cook Truck Lines of Memphis, TN. Viking was a pioneer St. Louis, MO based Common Carrier. It was also one of the original carriers to be involved in the formation of the ATA and Missouri Trucking Association. Viking purchased Cook to obtain authority in to Memphis, TN. Vikings main routes included St. Louis to Chicago as well as Memphis. Where else I really dont know. I have been told Viking was a very large St. Louis based carrier in its day. Viking (not to be confused with the Viking from California) sold to Spector of Chicago around 1965-66. Spector named its truckload Special Commodity Owner Operator Agent division the Viking Division.
