The game, which was played at Nakivubo Stadium, acted as a fundraising event for the club’s welfare committee. Coach Sam Ssimbwa chest-thumped and warned Simba SC, Villa’s next opponents in the Uganda Premier League (UPL). “I am happy with the result. No one should underestimate these guys (Ex-Internationals). They played soccer and they understand the game. So, winning today puts us in a great shape to face Simba on Friday. There is no turning back and our opponents should know that,” he said. Former Cranes stars like Ibrahim Buwembo, Matia Lule, James Odoch, Muhamoud Kateregga and Ibrahim Kirya, who is also SC Villa assistant coach, graced the match. In the first game, SC Villa fans and officials played out a goalless draw.
