Village head urges parents on school resumption From LAWAL ABUBAKAR, Bauchi THE Village Head of Liman Katagum in Bauchi Local Government Area, Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar Ghani, has charged parents in his domain to send back their children to school immediately following the resumption of schools in the state. Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar made the call in his palace while speaking to SUNDAY STANDARD and recently observed that some students have formed the habit of resuming to school late after every holiday, describing the habit as detrimental to the development of education in the area. The village head directed ward heads in the area to use their various places of worship to enlighten parents on the significance of resuming back to school without delays. In the meantime, the Principals of Government Girl Secondary School Liman Katagum, Hajiya Amina Muhammad Malami and her counterpart of Government Day Secondary School Liman Katagum, Mr. Ishaya Shak, have commended the state government for providing portable drinking water in their respective schools. Speaking to our reporter, the principals said Governor Isa Yuguda would continue to be remembered for the priority accorded by his administration to the education sector since he assumed duty as the state chief executive. They also urged parents to send their children back to school pointing out that those late comers would face disciplinary measures when they return.
