Village of Waldron council minutes September 10, 2013 The 2013 September board meeting was held on September 13th at the Town Hall. President, Richard Buck, called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. All stood to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Mike Ames, reported that all speed limit signs and some of the stop signs have been refurbished. There is still a need for stop signs to be taken care of. Mike also reported that the Bush Hog mower is just sitting at the lagoons, unused. Jeff Bernath made a motion to take bids to sell the Bush Hog mower. Angelica Barnes supported the motion and it carried by a voice vote. Terry Esterline made a motion to raise Maintenance Assistant, Adam Myers’ wages to $8.00 per hour. Jeff Bernath supported the motion and it carried by a voice vote. Harold Douglas mentioned that the Treasurer has not had a raise in a long time. Discussion followed the comment. Angelica Barnes made a motion to raise the Treasurer’s wages from $700 to $900 per annum, commencing December 1, 2013. Terry Esterline supported the motion and it carried by a voice vote. Richard Buck tendered his resignation as Village President, to be effective upon appointment of a new President or October 1, 2013, whichever came first. Jeff Bernath made a motion to accept the resignation of Richard Buck. Angelica Barnes supported the motion and it carried by a voice vote. Roy Hall made a motion to declare the seat vacant and appoint Jeff Bernath to fill the term of President commencing Oct. 1 and ending December 1, 2014. Lowell Robison supported the motion and it carried by a voice vote with 1 dissenting vote. Terry Esterline made a motion to accept the bid from R & P to remove 6 trees for $2,230. Lowell Robison supported the motion and it carried by a voice vote. Terry Esterline made a motion to proceed with the following work presented to us by Mauldon Construction in their quote, contingent upon a 60 day completion date: fixing the 75’ of 8” storm drain on Center Street and cementing the retaining wall with wings on Main Street south of Church Street, to be paid from Major Street Drains. Angelica Barnes supported the motion and it carried by a voice vote. Terry Esterline made a motion to have Mauldon Construction do the valve box replacement at Main and Church Streets contingent upon a 60 day completion date.
