I was planning on going to pick one up to save and came across a post on Facebook regarding Diamond (aka Denise) that was posted from a volunteer named Kristen Ernst. As I was reading what she wrote, it brought tears to my eyes. I thought she was euthanized already, but as I was reading her thread on Facebook, I came to find out that she was still alive and that Ms. Ernst made a mistake on her euth day. As I read Diamonds story, it broke my heart to know that she has been through a lot and that she was never loved or cared for just like a lot of other dogs. She was neglected and confiscated from a home that did not deserve her. I decided to go and pick her up BUT I was so worried about how she would be with kids because I have little girls of my own, plus Im a little scared of pitbulls. I couldnt waste time so I went ahead to HCAS with my youngest daughter and tested her, and oh my gosh, she was just the MOST sweet dog. All she ever wanted was to be loved. I took her as well as the other dog Ari that I was planning on rescuing in the first place. Ari got adopted at the First Saturday event and I am determined to get Diamond feeling better so she can get ready to be adopted to a new loving home. Without FOHCAS help I would never been able to do this this quick. She just started her first heart worm treatment last Monday, October, 6th.
